About Wendy Robinson
I'm Wendy Robinson. A photographer and web designer based in the Fraser Valley of British Columbia, Canada. My interest in cameras began at the age of four when I snapped my first photograph on a family vacation. From there began an obsession for framing scenery with my hands and finding shapes and patterns in the landscape. It wasn't until my highschool photography course years later, that I realized this was called The Rule of Thirds. My first camera was an Olympus point and shoot, from there a Nikon F401s and when digital cameras entered the scene in the early 2000's, a Toshiba PDR. I now shoot all my photos with a Nikon D80. I have an eye for aesthetics and balance and an obsessesion with combining colours, textures and patterns to create visually pleasing images. As a kid I was lucky to have a computer in the house from the age of six. I spent hours creating scenes and writing stories on my Kidwriter program and making cards and banners for every possible occasion with Print Shop. Later, when my mom became a Desktop Publisher I used her Adobe Page Maker programs for all of my school projects and presentations. Website design seemed a natural step to take. I got my own computer years later and began learning basic html and css. I've been doing freelance web design for the past four years for various companies as well as designing sites for clients of my own. I use a variety of tools available including Open Source Content Management Systems, Inkscape, The Gimp, Photoshop and Illustrator. My focus is always on functionally sound websites with a creative but clean style. Less is more.
